APS delivers more LGMG scissor lifts to UPA

National equipment hire specialist United Powered Access has boosted its expanding fleet with more LGMG platforms supplied by Access Platform Sales.

The company has taken delivery of 34 LGMG diesel and electric scissor lifts, citing the quality of the platforms and rapid fulfillment by APS as key reasons the orders were placed.

UPA General Manager Jason O’Brien said: “Both our clients and our service engineers have been very impressed with all the LGMG platforms we’ve taken into our fleet so far.

“For example, the platform capacities across the range are exceptional, and the machines themselves are high quality and rock solid in terms of reliability, which is important because we want to give our customers the best working at height performance.

“What’s impressive is that, when we’ve suggested small design improvements, they’ve been incorporated in the next batch. That sort of fast response to feedback is very uncommon.

“On top of that, APS can fulfil our LGMG orders within weeks, which is a very big benefit for our operational planning and implementation.”

Timely delivery

UPA, based in Lymm, Cheshire, is part of CA Group, one of the UK’s leading cladding, roofing and building services specialists, and has a wide range of access platforms and construction plant available for hire.

APS North West Sales Manager Mike Weatherall said: “We’re very pleased Jason and his customers at UPA are getting such good service from their LGMG platforms and the service delivered by APS.

“At a time when there’s been significant supply chain disruption in the powered access industry, our ability to help clients manage their fleet investment with confidence, by delivering LGMG platforms in a timely way, is more important than ever.”

It is the second large order for LGMG platforms that UPA has placed with APS, the UK and Ireland authorised distributor for LGMG.

They latest tranche includes 10 LGMG SR1623D all terrain diesel scissor lifts, which have a maximum working height of 18m and a platform capacity of 680kg.

The platform’s 3.98m-long deck – which extends to 5.44m with a single deck extension and 6.58m with a double deck extension – is ideal for cladding, roofing and building maintenance duties.

APS has also delivered four LGMG SR0818D all terrain diesel scissor lifts, with a maximum working height of 9.7m and a 680kg platform capacity, and five SR1018D diesel scissor lifts, which have a maximum working height of 11.7m and a 454kg platform capacity.

UPA has also selected two electric LGMG scissor lift models, with five LGMG AS0607WE scissors (maximum working height: 7.8m, capacity 230kg) and 10 LGMG SR0812E scissors (max working height: 10m, capacity 450kg).

The battery-powered LGMG AS0607WE is popular with construction clients, electrical contractors and building maintenance specialists. It has a travel width of just 780mm and can reach maximum height in 16 seconds.

Both the LGMG AS0607WE and LGMG SR0812E scissor lifts have direct electric drive systems which extends battery life and duty cycles. They are also outdoor-rated, so can be operated on external slab surfaces.

UPA already had LGMG SR1623D and LGMG AS0607WE scissor lifts in its fleet, along with LGMG AS1212E and LGMG AS1413E electric scissor lifts, which have a maximum working height of 14m and 16m respectively.
