New access rental specialist selects LGMG as it looks to grow

Fast-growing rental company PG Powered Access has become the first business in England to take delivery of the new LGMG AR20J all terrain boom lift.

LGMG’s UK and Ireland distributor, Access Platform Sales, has supplied the diesel articulating cherry picker to the company, founded in May 2022, which already has more than 50 platforms in its hire fleet.

PG Powered Access Director Sean Goodger, pictured, said the LGMG AR20J appears to be ideal for a young and ambitious powered access rental company like theirs.

“We’ve taken other LGMG platforms from APS and their proving to be very reliable and very popular with clients,” he added. “That’s a critical combination, because maintaining a high utilisation rate its very important for us.”

New models launched

PG Powered Access is a division of PG Site Services, which has a fleet of more than 500 plant machines, including dumpers, dozers, mini diggers, rollers, glazing equipment, and road sweepers, available for hire from depots in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, and Sittingbourne, in Kent.

The LGMG AR20J, which has a maximum working height of 21.58m and a maximum outreach of 12.37m, is one of a series of new modules being launched in Europe over the rest of 2023.

APS Key Accounts Director Linda Betts, pictured, said: “It’s exciting to be able to make these new LGMG models available across the UK and Ireland, and am delighted that PG Powered Access is leading the way with the LGMG AR20J.

“We’re able to provide a comprehensive range of LGMG MEWPs with efficiency gains through shared operational systems, backed up by APS’s incomparable after-sales service.

“That includes impressive new all-electric models, for both indoor and outdoor, all terrain operation, so our clients can be sure their fleet development strategies are futureproofed as we move towards carbon net zero.”

Optimised performance

For example, the LGMG AR20J is the diesel engine version of the new highly compact all terrain articulated cherry picker. The lithium battery electric version is the LGMG AR20JE.

It is the first ‘4x4x4’ LGMG all terrain boom lift – with 4-wheel drive, 4-wheel steer, and full-time 4-wheel oscillating floating axles, contributing to gradeability of 45 per cent.

There are also two other steering modes – crab and front-wheel, plus one-touch wheel alignment so operatives can optimise performance across the most challenging ground.

APS had already supplied PG Powered Access with six LGMG AS0607WE electric scissor lifts, which have working heights up to 7.8m, and two LGMG AR14J diesel boom lifts, which have a maximum working height of 15.8m and outreach up to 7.81m.

Built to last

Sean Goodger said: “I’m confident the AR20J will be as popular with our customers as the other LGMG platforms in our fleet. It’s smooth to drive and operate, is built to last and has excellent features. APS service is also second to none.”

The LGMG AR20J has a 2.44m × 0.9m triple-entry dual capacity platform – with an unrestricted capacity of 260kg and a capacity to an outreach of 10m of 350kg.

Other standard features include platform auto-levelling, anti-entrapment protection plus tilt and overload sensors. It also has LGMG’s industry-leading intelligent diagnostic system for faster and easier fault finding and fixing.
