Rental company snaps up first lithium Hinowa Lightlift 33.17

The first lithium-ion powered Hinowa Lightlift 33.17 Performance IIIS spider boom in the UK has been delivered to powered access hire specialist JMS. The fast-expanding rental company has snapped up the machine which combines the benefits of lithium battery technology with the industry-leading compactness, lightness and performance of Hinowa booms.

Access Platform Sales (APS), the exclusive distributor for Hinowa products in the UK, supplied the tracked spider boom to JMS.

APS Managing Director Steve Couling said: “The Hinowa Lightlift 33.17 spider boom has generated significant interest in the UK in the short time it has been on the market. “This is in line with the growing demand for lithium-ion electric spider lifts, as they challenge diesel booms for power efficiency and operating time while delivering zero-emission and low-noise operation. “This gives our customers two spider booms in one because the Hinowa Lightlift 33.7 is just as at home putting in a long shift on external projects as it is working at height indoors. “Greater flexibility and productivity translate into better cost control, combined with the sustainability and reputational benefits that flow from low carbon footprint and fume-free operation.”

The Hinowa Lightlift 33.17 tracked spider boom has a maximum working height of 32.6 metres, an outreach of 16.5 metres, and a transport width of just 1.2 metres. Its basket has a capacity of 230kg.
JMS is already impressed with the operational benefits the huge outreach alone delivers.

JMS Managing Director Mark Jackson said: “The Hinowa 33.17 will allow our clients to complete roof inspections from one or two locations, where previously the task may have needed multiple machine moves.
“Taller lithium electric booms, like the Hinowa Lightlift 33.17, now also represent a very credible alternative to diesel booms for a wide range of external working at height projects.”

As with other lithium battery powered spider lifts in the Lightlift range, the machine is ideal for working in confines areas where both fume-free and low-noise operation are essential, such as hotel courtyards, retail atriums, hospitals, schools and colleagues.

Other spider booms in the Lightlift range available from APS include the Hinowa Lightlift 20.10 Mk2, with a maximum working height of 20.15 metres and an outreach of 9.7 metres, and the Hinowa Lightlift 26.14, with a maximum working height of 25.7 metres and an outreach of 13.75 metres.
