Strong, lightweight and easy to handle, our range of quality outrigger pads provide maximum strength and support for the toughest lifting applications…and they won’t splinter or corrode! Resistant to water, oil and chemicals, our tough no-nonsense pads will adapt to the contours of uneven terrain whilst retaining their shape.
Our outrigger pads are built to last – extensively tested by World renowned TUV and available in a wide range of sizes to suit your equipment
Outrigger pads are suitable for a range of plant and machinery
Spider Boom Lift
Concrete Pumps
Scissor Lifts
Mobile Cranes
Lorry Loaders
How do outrigger pads work?
Widely used by operators of access platforms, vehicle mounted boom lifts, cranes and mobile plant, and for exhibition and trailer units, they provide effective support for stabilisers and outrigger feet on terrain where load bearing capacity is an issue, such as soft ground or sensitive flooring. They reduce the overall pressure on the ground by spreading the load over a larger surface area and effectively supporting the equipment.
Sizing your outrigger pads
Not 100% sure on what size you need?
Contact the APS team and we can provide guidance on the size of the pads required for your equipment.
It’s useful to know maximum load per outrigger and maximum allowable ground pressure in the same unit of measurement.
Don’t worry if you don’t know the ground pressure – you can give us an idea of the surface material type to help us guide your outrigger pad or crane pad choice.
Outrigger Pads enhances stability for all lifting equipment such as mobile cranes, by spreading load pressures over a larger area ensuring the equipment is safely supported.
Square or Circular and available in a host of sizes suitable for a wide range of load capacities – talk to our Parts team for advice on getting the right Outrigger Pads for your crane or access platform.

Ground Mats - Protect the surface and prevent your equipment from sinking into the ground. This material is also resistant to diesel oil and other chemicals and also lightweight, easy to handle and available in a range of sizes from 2000mm x 800mm x 15mm to 6000mm x 1000mm x 20mm.
Stillages - For easy and convenient storage of road mats. Available to suit 2m or 3m mats.
Stowage Boxes - Stainless steel stowage brackets available for 300, 400, 500 and 600mm pads
Slider Outrigger Shoes - Helps aid set up - prevents your machinery from sinking into the ground. This slides onto the outrigger/stabiliser leg allowing you to move your machine without repositioning your pads. Available in three sizes.
Containershield® - Prevents surface damage and corrosion as well as reduces noise when containers are moved. Used extensively in waste recycling centres.
Ramps - Suitable for up to 100 Ton per set load bearing on wheel or track mounted vehicles. Durable and withstands diesel and most chemical spills.

IPAF Spread the Load
IPAF’s is unequivocal – Spreader plates should always be used with boom-type MEWPs when fully supported on their outriggers.
They have a number of resources available promoting outrigger pad / spreader pad use

A few Q&A about Crane Pads
What are Crane Pads?
Crane pads, commonly known as crane mats, foot pads, outrigger pads or stabiliser pads, are strong platforms, placed under the stabilisers of a crane. Manufactured from high quality HMPE, crane pads are manufactured to withstand extreme pressure with large load capacities.
Why do Cranes Need Pads for their Outriggers?
The primary reason cranes require pads for their outriggers is to ensure stability and safety during operation. They achieve this by spreading the load over a larger surface area, supporting the equipment weight and preventing it from tipping or sinking into soft or sensitive surfaces.
Can I use crane pads on other machinery?
Crane pads are versatile. They can be used for various plant and machinery, including mobile cranes, spider boom lifts, concrete pumps, scissor lifts, and lorry loaders.
A few Q&A about Outrigger Pads
Do i need outrigger pads when operating on a slope?
Yes, outriggers and spreader pads (outrigger pads) must be on level and stable ground.
