Emissions-Free & Quiet Hinowa Boom Lift Required For Top London Hotel

Industry: Cleaning & Maintenance Manufacturer: Hinowa

Challenge: A contractor contacted Cannon Access to provide a specialist machine that was quiet, emissions-free, lightweight and compact. The access platform had to travel through part of an exclusive London hotel to reach the courtyard, where operators could be elevated to re-plant window boxes outside guests’ rooms.

Solution: Cannon Access supplied its customer with a Hinowa 20.10 Lithium tracked boom lift. This 20m working height machine is mounted on a crawler chassis and has non-marking tracks. It can pass easily through single doorways and is powered entirely by Lithium Ion batteries, making it emissions-free and significantly quieter than similar diesel-powered boom lifts.

Outcomes: The stowed dimensions of 0.79m width and a low weight of 2,800kg enabled access through the hotel. Once it reached the courtyard, the tight outrigger footprint of less than 3m x 3m ensured that the machine was sufficiently compact to set up in between planters and an outside dining area. The battery-powered boom lift was quiet and unobtrusive, minimising impact to guests at the exclusive hotel. The fact that there was no need to plug the machine into the mains also eliminated the risk of trip hazards from trailing cables.

“The route to the job site and the available space for setting up in the courtyard required a really compact machine. It also had to provide a great working envelope and be virtually silent, so as not to disturb guests.

“The benefits include reducing trip hazards by eliminating the need for trailing leads when working inside; and happier customers due to dramatically lower noise on site over diesel machines - this includes getting jobs which had not previously been possible before due to noise restraints.”
