Isoli Boom Solves Working At Height Problem For Council Maintenance Job

Industry: Cleaning & Maintenance Manufacturer: Isoli

Challenge: A local authority in North-East England brought in local access hire experts Warren Access to solve a working at height problem. The council required an access platform to enable the removal of ivy from the gable end of a three-storey property. The driveway dimensions mean only a very compact vehicle-mounted boom lift would be suitable for the task.

Solution: Warren Access an Isoli PNT 210 JD4 vehicle- mounted boom lift, which is a 21m articulating boom mounted on a 3.5t Nissan Cabstar chassis. It has a number of unique features including a dual pantograph boom which gives zero tail swing and excellent ‘up and over’ capabilities; and enhanced jib arc for precise positioning of the platform. Crucially, it also has a narrow jacking option, meaning that the stabilisers can be vertically deployed without first being extended outwards.

Outcomes: The compact dimensions of the Isoli and its narrow jacking option enabled the workers to operate on the narrow driveway.  The working envelope provided by the jib and articulated boom also ensured they could safely work around overhead cables.

“The excellent working envelope and narrow jacking feature help our customers to work at height safely and efficiently in residential areas where there are often space restrictions and lots of obstacles to contend with.

“We invested in this machine after seeing a significant rise in demand for 21m trucks on 3.5t vehicles, which can be driven by anyone with a standard driving licence.”
