It is a requirement under the Health and Safety at Work Act and The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 that employers must ensure that employees are given adequate training.
Access Platform Sales is a long established provider of work at height training. As members of IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) and PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers Association) we are able to provide the relevant training courses that will ensure that the employer operates within the law.
Training courses can be held either on site or at one of our three purpose built training centres in Huntingdon, Glasgow and Dublin.
Our fully qualified instructors combine their technical knowledge with practical experience to ensure that your staff get the most out of the training.

The Work at Height Regulations 2005, require that the assembly, dismantling or alteration of mobile access towers should only be undertaken by a competent person, or if being trained, under the supervision of a competent person. Such a person is someone considered to have the appropriate training, technical knowledge or experience. PASMA therefore sponsors training courses provided only by authorised training members.
Widely recognised and recommended by safety professionals, the PASMA course provides successful delegates who pass a written and practical test with a competency certificate and an encapsulated, credit card sized ID card.
The course content includes; an Introduction to mobile access towers, tower assembly, stability, safe use of towers, repositioning of towers, tower inspection, care and maintenance, dismantling of towers and regulations and standards.
CAP Certification (IPAF Competent Assessed Person)
Access Platform Sales is an Accredited CAP Centre
Since 1998, the law requires all powered access equipment to be "thoroughly examined" on a regular basis by a Competent Person.
The IPAF Competent Assessed Persons (CAP) provides guidance for platform engineers on compliance with regulatory requirements and to offer documented evidence that individuals can be regarded as competent persons to plan, manage or carry out thorough examinations of powered access equipment within the context of current legislation.
The CAP programme complements IPAF's operator training courses by extending the promotion of a safety culture to machine maintenance as well as operation.
Experienced engineers from IPAF-approved training centres provide guidance through presentations and individually assess those attending the sessions.
Successful assessment provides suitable candidates with the valuable documentary evidence that they are certified as competent persons to plan, manage or carry out thorough examinations of platforms in the context of current legislation including the Work at Height Regulations, LOLER and PUWER 98.
