Latest figures from the Health and Safety Executive show that 45 people died from a fall from height at work in 2006/07 and 3351 suffered serious injury as a result of a fall from height in the workplace. This is again a record low. However falls from height remain the most common kind of accident causing fatal injuries.

Safety Harnesses
It is strongly recommended that a full body harness with an adjustable lanyard (used to provide work restraint and adjusted to be as short as possible) is used when working from a boom type mobile elevating work platform. This would include self propelled booms, trailer mounted platforms, track mounted platforms and vehicle mounted platforms.
It is not normally necessary for personnel working from a vertical lift to wear fall protection equipment, other than in exceptional circumstances. This would include scissor lifts and personnel lifts.
The need for a fall protection system should be the outcome of a job specific risk assessment undertaken prior to work commencing.
We supply a safety harness and lanyard kit in a protective easy to carry box. Contact our parts department for further information.
