The Youngman Group has launched its first powered access machine, the BoSS X3.
This compact, manually propelled, battery powered scissor lift is a high specification machine designed to withstand the rigours of the hire market.
A high capacity motor and ram lift the 565mm x 1050mm work platform to a maximum platform height of 2.55 metres (giving a safe working height of up to 4.55 metres), in just 12 seconds. Descent from maximum height also takes only 12 seconds and the heavy-duty 12V DC/100Ah battery allows 225 full range ascents and descents on one charge. Key serviceable components such as the motor, pump and battery are all housed in a pull out drawer within the base.
The BoSS X3 has been designed with safety as a priority. Features include an easy-to-operate handset control with up, down and emergency stop buttons; a platform overload valve to prevent the machine operating above its maximum safe capacity and an audible alarm to indicate when the platform is descending.
In addition, a safety cut-out automatically pauses platform descent at 1.85m to prevent injury to anyone who may be working beneath it. Having ascertained that nobody is at risk, the operator can then continue the descent.
The BoSS X3's design means no additional stabilisers are required. A tilt switch activates an alarm and prevents ascent if chassis inclination exceeds 1.5 degrees. The result is an ultra compact unit designed specifically for the rigors of the rental market.
The Youngman Group's research and development team worked closely with key customers to establish just what the hire industry required from an electric scissor lift of this type.
As a result, the BoSS X3's key serviceable components - including the motor, pump and battery – are housed in a convenient pull out tray for easy access. Box section scissors are used for strength and rigidity, and the joints are fully bushed to minimise wear.
The BoSS X3, which is CE Marked and tested to EN 280, weighs just 347kg's yet has a rated lift capacity of 240kg, ample for one person plus tools and materials. With a 565mm platform, but at just 700mm wide, and with a stowed height of only 1.8m, the BoSS X3 can pass easily through a standard doorway or in to a passenger lift, making it an incredibly versatile unit.
APS and the Youngman Group have reached a partnership agreement for the sales and service of the new Youngman Boss X3 push around scissor lift.
